CEO of SAMRUK-KAZYNA Sovereign Wealth Fund Akhmetzhan Yessimov and Kazakhstan’s Turkestan region’s Head Umirzak Shukeyev signed a memorandum on cooperation in a number of areas, Trend reports with reference to the press office of SAMRUK-KAZYNA.
Memorandum oversees activity on region’s gas supply, development of energy complex, electronic commerce and postal network, information and communications infrastructure, Smart City project, and construction of social objects in the region.
Smart City project is designed for development of Arys and Turkestan cities based on service model. Within the framework of the project, the fund will oversee construction of fiber optic communication line, radio networks in the Turkestan region and installation of 400 cloud video surveillance cameras, as well as covering 50 locations with WiFi.
Within the framework of the meeting, parties discussed prospects of development of energy complex in the region. Construction of 220 kWh substation, which will be connected to the local 110 kWh distribution network is planned in the region.
The major part of the memorandum oversees issues of procurement, and in particular import substitution and local content. Fund is to support projects, which oversee creation of new manufacturing in the region by signing long-term agreements. In its turn, the akimat of the region (administrative center) will oversee selection of projects for creation of new manufacturing, including those of public private partnership.
Furthermore, within the framework of helping entrepreneurs in participating in fund’s tenders, SAMRUK-KAZYNA will provide for growth of procurement volume, attraction of investments and increase of competitiveness.
