Enterprises with foreign capital account for one third of total production in Uzbekistan

In the first nine months of 2019, enterprises with foreign investment in Uzbekistan manufactured products worth $7.5 billion, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.

The share of products of enterprises with foreign capital amounted to 30.3 percent in the total volume of production.

In the total output, share of enterprises with foreign investment in the mining industry and quarrying amounted to 26.5 percent, and to 73.4 percent in manufacturing industry, read the message.

Official statistics recorded that the number of enterprises with foreign capital in Uzbekistan for the nine months of 2019 increased to 9,732.

Compared to the same period last year, the number of enterprises with foreign investment increased by 2,772 or by 39.8 percent. The bulk of enterprises with foreign capital belong to Russia, Turkey, China, South Korea and Kazakhstan, read the message.

According to the Statistics Committee, as of Oct. 1, 2019, the capital city of Tashkent accounted for 5,778 of operating enterprises with foreign capital. The capital is followed by the Tashkent region, where 1,066 enterprises with foreign capital operate, and Samarkand region with 500 such enterprises.

The statistical data show that 4,891 enterprises with foreign capital are joint ventures, and 4,841 - foreign enterprises.

The bulk of enterprises with foreign capital are operating in industry (34.4 percent) and trade (24.3 percent). They are followed by a construction industry (7.6 percent), agriculture, forestry and fisheries (5.5 percent) and accommodation and food services (4.4 percent) by a large margin.
