Representatives of UAE’s Majid Al Futtaim holding company announced the opening of five super and two Carrefour hypermarkets in Uzbekistan by 2021, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.
The cooperation agreement was signed with the Uzbekistan’s AKFA Group construction company.
Three supermarkets and one hypermarket will be commissioned in 2020, two more supermarkets and a hypermarket will open in 2021.
Majid Al Futtaim, a Dubai-based holding company, owns and operates dozens of shopping centers and entertainment venues in Asia and Africa. The holding operates Carrefour on franchising conditions in 37 countries and has more than 285 stores in the network.
Carrefour has over 15,000 stores all over the world operating under different brands.
