During the seven months (March 21-October 22) of this Iranian year (began March 21, 2019), goods worth over $1.2 billion were exported through the customs of Iran’s Kermanshah province, said Khalil Heydari, director of Kermanshah Customs Administration, Trend reports citing IRNA.

Heydari said that 2.84 million tons of products were exported during this period, adding that exports decreased by 26 percent in value and by 16 percent in weight compared to the same period last year.

“Other Iranian customs exported 1.31 million tons of goods worth $556.4 million through the border with the Kermanshah province,” the director noted.

Heydari added that exports increased by 5 percent in weight and decreased by 30 percent in value compared to the same period last year.

The director said that the main exported products were tomatoes, watermelons, ice cream, cheese, iron or steel rods, household items, rubber products and ceramics.

Heydari noted that 682 types of products were exported to 26 countries, mainly to Iraq, through the customs of Kermanshah province.

The province has a 371-km joint border with Iraq. There are six official customs and border markets on this border. Nearly half of Iran’s non-oil exports to Iraq are transported through this province.
