Sabirabad Canning OJSC, a large producer of canned goods in Azerbaijan, plans to increase exports to foreign markets, a source at the company told Trend.

According to the source, the company, in particular, intends to increase the pomegranate juice exports to the German market.

“In addition to pomegranate juice, the exports include narsharab (Azerbaijani seasoning prepared by thickening pomegranate juice) and minimal volumes of aseptic pomegranate concentrate. Given the growing demand in the European market, we plan to increase exports to Germany. According to our estimates, by the end of 2019, it is possible to increase this figure by 10-15 percent", the source said.

The source noted that the company also exports its products to Russia and the Baltic countries.

"At the moment, negotiations with potential partners in the Central Asia are being completed. We plan to start exporting in this market from early 2020," the source said.

The source added that the annual production volume by the end of 2019 will be 12 million bottles of pomegranate juice, and next year this figure is planned to be increased to 13 million bottles.

The company's products have a certificate of conformity issued by the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents of Azerbaijan.

The canning factory has been operating since 1982.

The company uses equipment manufactured in Italy and Moldova.
