Sabirabad Canning OJSC, a large producer of canned goods in Azerbaijan, is increasing pomegranate juice production, a source at the company told Trend.
According to the source, by the end of 2019, the output will amount to 12 million bottles of pomegranate juice.
"We plan to bring this figure to 13-13.5 million bottles in the first half of 2020. At the same time, it is planned to open an additional production line in order to increase output and exports. The company's products are in great demand abroad, while it is sold in small volumes in the country. However, sales are stable," the source said.
The source also noted that in addition to pomegranate juice, the company produces narsharab (Azerbaijani seasoning prepared by thickening pomegranate juice) and aseptic pomegranate concentrate in small volumes.
The company's products have a certificate of conformity issued by the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents of Azerbaijan.
The canning factory has been operating since 1982.
The company uses equipment manufactured in Italy and Moldova.
