Turkmenistan sent the first train with a container cargo containing potassium from its Kelif station to China, Trend reports referring to the Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (Kazakhstan Railways).
The cargo will be transited through Kazakhstan. The train will run along the Kelif - Serhetyaka - Bolashak - Altynkol - Khorgos – Qingdao route.
The train consists of 45 containers loaded with 40 tons of potassium each, the Business Turkmenistan agency said. The Turkmen transport and logistics center acted as the sender.
The use of potash fertilizers helps to increase agricultural productivity, their resistance to soil and climatic conditions and reduce harmful insects.
The growth rate of the production of mineral fertilizers at the enterprises of the Turkmenchemistry state concern amounted to 108.5 percent in 2018.
The main importers of potassium in the world market are the US, Brazil and China.
