Juice concentrate production plant being built with foreign investment in Iran

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 12

The second unit of the fruit juice concentrate production plant is being built in Iran’s Urmia district in West Azerbaijan province with German investments, said Ali Abdouli, managing director of Iran’s West Azerbaijan Province Industrial Parks Company, Trend reports citing IRNA.

Abdouli said that German investments of 20 million euros were allocated for the construction and commissioning of this unit, and so far, 13 million euros have been invested.

The managing director added that when the fruit juice concentrate production plant becomes fully operational, 500 people will be employed there.

Abdouli noted that the unit is expected to be commissioned over next three months.

“The first unit of the plant was also commissioned with German investments and it currently produces 600 tons of tomato paste a day,” the managing director said, adding that 150 people are working in the first unit of the plant.

West Azerbaijan province is one of the major fruit producing provinces in Iran with production of 1.2 million tons of fruits per year.
