About 3.2% of Georgian enterprises introduce new goods on market

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 11

Some 3.2 percent of Georgian enterprises introduced new or significantly improved goods on the market in 2018, and the share of enterprises, that introduced new or significantly improved services during this period, also stood at 3.2 percent, Trend reports citing National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

New goods and services in most cases were originally developed by the enterprises (60.1 percent and 45.8 percent respectively). In other cases, they received support from other enterprises or institutions.

As reported, 44.9 percent of implemented innovations were new to enterprises, while 55.1 percent were new to market.

Acquisition of machinery, equipment and software (20.8 percent) has relatively higher share in enterprise involvement in innovation activities. The high percentage of innovation activity was detected in line to innovative study (15.1 percent).

According to Geostat, 31.2 percent of the enterprises made significant changes in aesthetic design and packaging of products, 28.7 percent developed a new system of pricing goods and services, and 20.7 percent used new media and techniques for product promotion.
