External merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to $10.3 billion from January through October 2019, Trend reports via the Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).
The figure is 0.5 percent higher year-on-year.
The value of export increased by 10.4 percent reaching $3 billion, while the import decreased by 3.1 percent and amounted to $7.3 billion.
The trade deficit equaled $4.2 billion and its share in trade turnover constituted 41.4 percent.
The external merchandise trade of Georgia amounted to $9.1 billion from January through September 2019.
The exports equaled $2.7 billion (11.1 percent higher), while the imports stood at $6.4 billion (3.3 percent lower).
The negative trade balance was $3.7 billion from January through September 2019 and its share in external trade turnover constituted 40.8 percent.
