Georgian Green Gold tea to be exported in 2020

Green Gold tea produced by Georgian Laituri Tea Export Company will be put for export since January 2020, Trend reports via Georgian media outlets.

Meanwhile, Green Gold tea is already being sold at Georgian supermarkets.

The products produced by Laituri Tea Export Company Ltd are already being sold at various supermarket chains and restaurants.

According to the company founder Tamuna Khabeishvili, tourists show great interest in Georgian tea, which gives more incentive in terms of exports.

"Our prices are acceptable. Green Gold is a natural tea that doesn’t contain chemical impurities. We make it according to the old Chinese tradition but in a modern factory,” Khabeishvili says.

“We are going to expand our plantations in the near future and are set to launch exports. We sent samples to US, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic which showed interest in our product," the company founder said.

The factory of the company is located in the city of Ozurgeti, the total investment volume reaches 300,000 lari ($101,665). The factory design and manufacturing process is fully compliant with HACCP and ISO standards, and the company is set to obtain both certificates in 2020.
