Some 1.2 million tons of cargo were transported by sea from January through October 2019, which is 1.5 times more than in the same period of 2018, Trend reports referring to the report of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.
The total amount of cargo transported by sea amounted to $762.2 million from January through October 2019, which is almost 16.1 percent more than in the same period of last year.
The volume of export shipping amounted to almost 280,800 tons from January through October 2019, which is 1.3 times more than in the same period of last year. The total indicator of exported goods amounted to $125.5 million (an increase of 27.2 percent).
The volume of import cargo transportation by sea for the reporting period amounted to almost 979,200 tons from January through October 2019, which is 1.6 times more than in the same period of last year. The total indicator of the imported goods amounted to $636.7 million (an increase of 14.2 percent).
In general, Azerbaijan’s total trade turnover amounted to $28.2 billion, in particular, export - $16.8 billion, import - almost $11.4 billion from January through October 2019.
