Azerbaijan imported 35,457 vehicles from January to October 2019, which is 83.3 percent more compared to the same period of 2018, Trend reports referring to the country's State Customs Committee.
The main part of the import accounted for passenger cars. The number of passenger cars reached 31,934 cars from January to October 2019, which is more than in the same period of 2018.
The number of imported vehicles with a capacity of 10 people and more amounted to 441 from January to October 2019, which is by 2.4 times more than in the same period of 2018.
The number of imported trucks also increased and amounted to 2,934 from January to October 2019, which is 70.3 percent more compared to the same period of last year.
The number of imported special-purpose vehicles increased by 58 and amounted to 148.
As for the volume of import in monetary terms, the cost of vehicles and spare parts in total amounted to $988.6 million from January to October 2019, which is 38.2 percent more than in the same period of 2018.
