Iranian airline to begin flights to Uzbekistan in December

Iranian Zagros Airlines will begin regular flights to Uzbekistan on the route Tehran-Tashkent-Tehran in December, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Transport.

At the initial stage, the airline plans to operate flights once a week. Later, their frequency is expected to be increased to two times a week.

Flights along the new route will be operated by Airbus A320, McDonnell Douglas MD-82 and MD-83.

The Civil Aviation Agency of Uzbekistan issued permission to operate flights on Nov. 11, on the basis of the Intergovernmental Agreement between Iran and Uzbekistan and on behalf of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Transport.

Zagros Airlines is an Iranian carrier specializing in transporting passengers within the country and abroad from the airport of Abadan. It has been working since 2005. The company's fleet now exceeds 30 liners and is considered one of the largest in the region.

It mainly operates Airbus and McDonnell Douglas aircraft in the layout from 170 to 180 seats, as well as Embraer. It carries international flights to Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Kuwait and Bahrain.
