Export of products from Iran’s North Khorasan province drops

Export of products from Iran’s North Khorasan province during the first seven months (March 21-October 22) of this Iranian year (began March 21, 2019) decreased by 6.4 percent in value and 13.6 percent in weight compared to the same period last year, Chairman of the North Khorasan province Industry, Mine and Trade Organization Reza Firouzeh said, Trend reports via IRNA.

More than 213,000 tons of products worth $58.9 million were exported during the reporting period, Firouzeh noted.

The chairman added that petrochemicals, rubber, steel, food and agricultural products were mainly exported.

“These products were mainly exported to Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Iraq, Georgia, UK, Belgium, Oman, China, Syria, Italy, Thailand, Russia, Kenya, the UAE, Slovakia and Bulgaria,” Firouzeh said.

The chairman noted that 27 percent of exports accounted for Afghanistan, 23 percent for India, 7 percent for China, 7 percent for Malaysia and 36 percent for other countries.

Firouzeh added that 109,000 tons of products worth $30 million were exported via the province’s customs during the reporting period.

The chairman noted that the export of goods via the province’s customs increased in value and weight by more than 42 percent compared to the same period last year.
