Export from Georgia to Azerbaijan up in 10 months

Georgia exported goods worth $400.3 million to Azerbaijan from January through October 2019, Trend reports referring to Georgian National Statistical Office (Geostat).

Statistics show that exports from Georgia to Azerbaijan grew by 4.1 percent compared to the same period last year.

The share of Azerbaijan in the total export of Georgia from January through October 2019 amounted to 13.2 percent. For Georgia, Azerbaijan ranks second after Russia as an export partner.

From January through October 2019, the exports from Georgia to the CIS countries stood at $1.6 billion (22.5 percent higher compared to the same period 2018) and reached 53.1 percent of total exports, while the imports equaled $1.9 billion (decrease by 12.5 percent) amounting to 26.3 percent in total import volume.

The external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to $10.3 billion from January through October 2019, 0.5 percent higher year-on-year.

The exports equaled $3 billion (growth by 10.4 percent), while the imports stood at $7.3 billion (decrease by 3.1 percent).
