Georgia increases petroleum import from Russia

Russia exported 277,352 tons of petroleum and petroleum oils to Georgia in a total amount of $165.8 million, which is 26,895 tons more compared the same period last year, Trend reports referring to the Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

On an annualized basis, Russia exported 335,458 tons wheat and meslin worth $70.6 million to Georgia. Russia decreased the export of wheat and meslin by 92,11 tons. Over the same period last year, 427,568 tons of wheat and meslin totaling $84 million were exported from Georgia to Russia.

Meanwhile, 105,307 tons of coke and semi-coke of coal worth 28.4 million were exported from Russia to Georgia. This is 8,571 tons less compared the same period last year.

During the reporting period, Russia exported 84,669 tons of petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons in the amount of $25.5 million to Georgia. During 10 month of 2018, export of petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons from Russia to Georgia amounted to 29,327 tons totaling $10.5 million.

At the same time Russia exported 30,085 tons of sunflower-seed oil worth $25.3 million to Georgia. This is 2.1 million less compared the same period last year.

Russia ranks second in Georgia’s commodity circulation

From January through October 2019 the foreign trade turnover between Georgia and Russia amounted to more than $1.1 billion, which is 11.4 percent of the total trade turnover of Georgia.

During the reporting period, Georgia exported products worth $409.8 million to the Russian market, which is 13.5 percent of total exports.

Meanwhile, Russian imported products worth $774.1 million to the Georgia market, which is 10.6 percent of total imports.
