The number of trade enterprises and organizations in Uzbekistan increased by 27,900 units and reached 97,500, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.
The Committee noted that the increasingly difficult sale of goods requires an increasingly developed network, which mainly consists of services provided during implementation and after-sales services.
In total, 256,800 units of enterprises and organizations are involved in the services sector and compared with the same period in 2018, their number increased by 22.1 percent.
As of Nov. 1, 2019, the share of trading activities (38 percent) prevails in the structure of existing enterprises and organizations related to the service sector, said the message. The share of functioning enterprises and organizations providing accommodation and food services is 9.7 percent.
The proportion of operating enterprises and organizations related to transportation and storage and related to the service sector, reached 5.9 percent. The share of functioning enterprises and organizations involved in information activities and providing communication services is 3.1 percent.
The proportion of existing enterprises and organizations providing health services, as well as social services, amounted to 3 percent.
Moreover, as of Nov. 1, 2018, 210,300 enterprises and organizations functioned in the services sector. In their overall structure, trade services accounted for 33.1 percent, accommodation and food - 9.2 percent, transportation and storage - 6.2 percent, information and communications - 3.3 percent, health and social services - 3.2 percent and other species - 45 percent.
