Iran, Oman eye reaching $5B in trade

TEHRAN, Iran, Dec.9

Iran and Oman have potential to expand their economic cooperation, President of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines & Agriculture (ICCIMA) Gholamhossein Shafei said, Trend reports citing YJC.

“Good progress has been made in the past 2 years such as establishing direct flights between Iran and Oman, enhancing the cooperation between our chambers of commerce, identifying and removing economic barriers and facilitating visa services,” he said.

“During these two years, we have had plenty of high-level meetings, “said Shafei.

“The $5 billion target for trade between the two countries is achievable,” he said. “In the field of engineering services, the private sector can jointly invest and execute numerous projects such as tunneling, bridging, transportation and exploration.”

Also, he named the development of sea tourism and medical tourism as possible areas of cooperation between Iran and Oman.
