Water supply to settlements underway in Turkmenistan

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, Dec. 13

By Huseyn Hasanov – Trend:

A water distribution station has been commissioned in the Gokdepe district of the Ahal region in Turkmenistan, which will provide water to a rapidly developing region with growing population, Trend reports referring to the Turkmen Altyn Asyr TV channel.

The facility was built by the local Altyn Nesil company and has capacity of 30,000 cubic meters of water per day.

The entire process at the station is fully automated, it is possible to control the operation of various equipment and units remotely by using the control panel, the report said.

The industrial complex includes three tanks with capacity of 10,000 cubic meters each, three filter units, a chlorine water purification unit and an electrolysis room.

Construction of a new administrative center of the Ahal region has recently started in the Gokdepe district.

In Central Asia, the main sources of water resources used for agriculture and industry, electricity production and supplying the population with drinking water are rivers, and almost all of them are transboundary.

Turkmenistan borders with Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Iran and Afghanistan and uses water resources coming in accordance with the agreed quotas from four transboundary rivers Amu Darya, Tejen, Atrek and Murghab.
