Iran's Foreign Ministry's spokesman Abbas Mousavi said that Iran is ready to establish bartering, based on national currencies, with other countries.
“We have developed mechanisms for enhancing cooperation with various countries through which financial transactions, exports and imports take place," Mousavi said.
In particular, he mentioned the Iran-Switzerland channel.
“We announce our readiness to create the same channel with any country which is willing to work with Iran on a bilateral basis.”
“Even further, we are ready to work within bartering system or national currencies,” said Mousavi.
A humanitarian channel to bring food and medicine to Iran could be up and running within months, senior Swiss and U.S. officials told Reuters previously.
