Kazakh insurance companies pay out over $60M on compulsory civil liability insurance

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec.18

The number of registered cars in Kazakhstan amounted to 745,461 vehicles during first 10 months of 2019, which is 1.2 percent less compared to the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

As of November 1, 2019, total number of passenger cars registered in Kazakhstan amounted to 3.7 million cars.

The committee noted that 84.4 percent of registered cars operate on petrol. Some 12.8 percent of the cars operate on mixed fuel and 2.7 percent - on diesel fuel.

During the reporting period, the number of registered car accidents amounted to 13,391 cases, which is 4.8 percent more than during the same period of last year, and 19,640 people were injured in these accidents.

As of November 1, 2019, insurance companies made 61,712 payments worth 24.1 billion tenge (approximately $62.6 million) on Compulsory Civil Liability Insurance of Vehicle Owners (CCLI of VO).
