Tashkent leads in total services in Uzbekistan

As of December 1, 2019, the share of Tashkent in the total volume of services in Uzbekistan was the largest - 34.3 percent, as the real incomes of the population are higher than in other regions, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.

The largest share was also recorded in Tashkent (7.1 percent), Samarkand (6.5 percent), Ferghana (5.9 percent) and Andijan (5.1 percent) regions.

The lowest indicators of the service sector were noted in Syrdarya (1.4 percent), Jizzakh (2.2 percent), Navoi (2.6 percent), Khorezm (3 percent) regions and the Autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan (2.9 percent).

For the reporting period, high growth rates were noted in Syrdarya (118.8 percent), Jizzakh (115.8 percent), Khorezm (113.6 percent) regions, Karakalpakstan (113.9 percent) and the city of Tashkent (115.8 percent).

Relatively low growth rates were observed in Tashkent (107.8 percent), Samarkand (108.8 percent), Ferghana (109.5 percent) and Namangan (110.6 percent) regions.

During the survey period in the context of regions, the city of Tashkent had a huge impact on the increase in the total volume of market services rendered. Compared to the same period last year, the volume of services in this region increased by $1.3 billion and reached $6.2 billion.

Along with this, relatively high rates were observed in Tashkent ($1.2 billion), Samarkand ($1.1 billion), Ferghana ($1 billion) and Andijan ($930 million) regions.

Compared to last year, the volume of market services provided per capita increased by $101 and amounted to $541, its growth amounted to 10.1 percent.

Tashkent city occupies a leading position in terms of per capita services. It is fixed in the equivalent of $2,454.

In Namangan ($254), Kashkadarya ($257) and Surkhandarya ($273) regions the per capita volume was lower compared to other regions.

An increase in the volume of market services provided per capita was noted in Syrdarya (16.7 percent), Jizzakh (13.4 percent), Khorezm (11.7 percent), the Republic of Karakalpakstan (12.2 percent) and the city of Tashkent (13.5 percent).

Low growth rates were recorded in Tashkent (106.3 percent), Samarkand (106.6 percent), Ferghana (107.6 percent), Namangan (108.4 percent) and Surkhandarya (109.1 percent) regions.

In terms of trade services, the highest share was recorded in the Surkhandarya region - 43.4 percent.

Moreover, financial activity is most developed in the city of Tashkent. Here, the share of financial services amounted to 28.9 percent.

The largest share of communication and information services was recorded in this region - 9 percent.

Transport services were most in demand in the Autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan (25.9 percent), as well as in Tashkent (25.7 percent) and Samarkand (25.6 percent) regions.

In total, 260,200 units were involved in Uzbekistan’s service sector in 2019. Compared to the same period in 2018, their number increased by 22.7 percent.
