Value of trade services in Uzbekistan reaches $4.5 B

From January through November 2019, the share of trade services in the total volume of market services provided in Uzbekistan amounted to 25.1 percent and stood at $4.5 billion, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.

Retail trade accounts for 67.4 percent of the total volume of trade services.

In the first 11 months of 2019, the share of wholesale trade services (except for trade in cars and motorcycles) reached 25.3 percent.

Wholesale and retail trade in automobiles and motorcycles, including repair services, in the total volume of trade services amounted to 7.3 percent.

The largest share of retail services is observed in Andijan (85.2 percent), Kashkadarya (83.6 percent) and Bukhara (82 percent) regions.

This indicator is insignificant in Uzbekistan’s capital of Tashkent, where it was only 45.5 percent. However, in Tashkent, the share of wholesale services (except for the sale of cars and motorcycles) is quite significant - 46 percent, while in Andijan region it was the smallest - 8.1 percent.

A relatively high share in the wholesale and retail trade in automobiles and motorcycles, including repair services, was noted in Samarkand (9.9 percent), Ferghana (8.5 percent), Tashkent (8.3 percent), and the city of Tashkent (8.5 percent) and the Autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan (7.1 percent).

The smallest share of these services was recorded in Surkhandarya (3.4 percent), Kashkadarya (4.8 percent), Jizzakh (5.1 percent), Syrdarya (5.5 percent) and Namangan (5.4 percent) regions.

Along with trade, high indicators were noted in transport services (28.2 percent), financial services (18.1 percent), communication and information services (5.7 percent).

A slight increase in volumes was noted for health services, the share of which reached only 1.5 percent. A low specific weight was recorded in the field of rendering services for the repair of computers and household goods - 1.6 percent, in the field of architecture, engineering surveys, technical testing and analysis - 2 percent, rental and rental services –2.1 percent.

The highest growth rates were recorded in financial services (158.9 percent), health services (109.5 percent), communication and informatization services, as well as in the field of architecture, engineering surveys, technical testing and analysis (108.7 percent).

A slight increase was recorded for rental and rental services (2.5 percent), as well as for services related to real estate (3.1 percent).
