Export of goods via customs of Iran’s Markazi province up

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 28

From the beginning of this Iranian year (March 21, 2019), 1.3 million tons of goods worth $760 million have been exported via the customs of Iran’s Markazi province, Director General of Markazi Customs Esmail Hosseini said, Trend reports via IRNA.

Hosseini noted that export of products increased by 24 percent in terms of weight and 2 percent in terms of value compared to the same period last year.

The director general said these products were exported to 80 countries.

“Various hydrocarbons, reinforced fittings, heavy and lightweight polyethylene, propylene, fruit juice and other products were mainly exported,” Hosseini added.

The customs official noted that 133,000 tons of goods worth $348 million were imported in the reporting period. Product imports increased by 8 percent in terms of weight and by 26 percent in terms of value, said Hosseini.

The director general noted that industrial equipment and spare parts, fruit juice packages, cars, monopropylene glycol were mainly imported.

Hosseini said that the products were imported from 54 countries.

“The customs of Markazi province earned 1.2 trillion rials (about $30.9 million) this Iranian year,” the customs official added.
