Kazakhstan's wholesale, retail trade up

Value of wholesale trade in Kazakhstan amounted to 26.1 trillion tenge in 2019 ($69.3 billion), which is 9.7 percent more than during 2018, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.
The largest value of the wholesale trade in the country accounts for Almaty city: 12.1 trillion tenge ($32.3 billion), which is 1.6 percent more than in 2018. The TOP-3 list also includes Nur-Sultan city and Atyrau region the wholesale trade value of which amounted to 3.3 trillion tenge ($8.8 billion) and 2.9 trillion tenge ($7.7 billion) respectively, which is 10.1 percent and 45.8 percent more than during 2018.
Atyrau region also leads by the increase rate of wholesale trade among Kazakhstan's districts.
In turn, value of retail trade amounted to 12.3 trillion tenge ($32.6 billion) in 2019, which is 5.8 percent more than during 2018.
Almaty city led during the reporting year by the value of retail trade: 3.5 trillion tenge ($30.1 billion), which is 12.1 percent more than in 2018.
Almaty city is followed by Nur-Sultan city the retail trade value of which amounted to 1.3 trillion tenge ($3.4 billion), which is 5.1 percent more than in 2018. Third by the value of wholesale trade was Shymkent city (1 trillion tenge or $2.6 billion, increase by 2.4 percent).
