In 2019, the number of imported cars from Georgia to Azerbaijan increased by 86.4 percent or 11,269 units compared to 2018 and reached 24,314 units, Trend reports referring to Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).
During the reporting period, cars worth $248.76 million were imported by Azerbaijan, which is 31.1 percent or $59.04 million more compared to 2018.
In 2018, the number of imported cars from Georgia to Azerbaijan amounted to 13,045 units in the amount of $189.72 million.
Last year, the external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to $12.8 billion, 2.7 percent higher year-on-year.
The exports equaled $3.7 billion (12.4 percent higher), while the imports stood at $9.1 billion (0.8 percent lower).
In 2019, the share of the top ten trading partners by exports in the total exports of Georgia amounted to 73.3 percent. The top partners were Azerbaijan ($498.7 million) and Russia ($497.1 million).
