Aurum Deutschland AG eyeing gold extraction in Kazakhstan's Zhambyl region

The project for establishing a gold extracting venture will be implemented in Kazakhstan’s Zhambyl region, Trend reports with reference to the regional akimat (administrative office).

The topic was discussed during the meeting between region’s Head Askar Myrzakhmetov and representatives of Aurum Deutschland company (Germany) which are looking to implement the project in Korday district of the region.

Within the framework of the meeting the details of the project were discussed for implementation of which German investors are looking to invest 329 million euro. The timeframe of the projects implementation is expected to be nine years.

“This year there are plans to finish the project of mining and refining venture, whereas next year there are plans to launch the construction of the plant the capacity of which will be up to 5,000 tons a year,” the report said.

Kazakhstan has allocated 300 ha of land to do so, and some 350 people will be employed for construction. Following the launch of the plant some 800 new jobs will be created.

According to Myrzakhmetov, all necessary conditions for investors will be created.

Aurum Deutschland AG is a German mining and resource company focusing on the development and extraction of high-grade gold, copper and polymetallic deposits in the Republic of Kazakhstan under the framework of the German-Kazakh commodity treaty signed in 2012.
