One of the areas of Kazakhstan’s domestic trade, which has great potential, is its development in the border regions of the country, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Trade and Integration Bakhyt Sultanov said, Trend reports with reference to Kazakh media.
Sultanov made the statement within the framework of the expanded meeting of the ministry’s board.
According to Sultanov, the key factor of Kazakh manufacturer success is developed domestic market.
“This area is full of potential for development of interregional internal trade of services via establishment of service clusters In Kazakh region to meet the demand all across the country. Another prospective area of internal trade is development of border regions,” he said.
He also added that a significant increase in the number of citizens in Kazakhstan’s southern regions, as well as major agglomerations of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan is expected by 2030.
“The center of Central Asian “trade cycles” will be Almaty and Tashkent (Uzbekistan) cities being the most economically developed cities with large population. At the same time the geographical proximity of Tashkent to Kazakhstan’s Shymkent the population of which is expected to reach 2.3 million people is also being noted,” Sultanov said.
In this regard, he said, the ministry will develop system measures to increase the access of local goods manufacturers to sale markets and trade networks, modern trade area will be increased, as well as mobile and stock trade will be developed.
