Georgia exported 3,467 tons of ferro-alloys totaling $3.3 million to Turkey in January 2020, Trend reports referring to the Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).
On an annualized basis, Georgia increased the export of ferro-alloys by 2,409 tons or 3.27 times to Turkey.
Over the same period last year, 1,058 tons of ferro-alloys were exported by Georgia to Turkey for a total amount of $1.1 million.
In January 2020, Georgia exported 4,006 tons of semi-finished products of iron or non-alloy steel totaling $1.5 million to Turkey, a decrease of 2,578 tons compared to January 2019.
Over the same period last year, 6,584 tons of semi-finished products of iron or non-alloy steel were exported by Georgia to Turkey for a total amount of $2.3 million.
Turkey ranks first in Georgia’s commodity circulation.
In January 2020, total imports to Georgia from Turkey amounted to $97.2 million. In turn, Georgia exported goods worth $19.8 million to Turkey.
The foreign trade turnover of Georgia with Turkey in January 2020 exceeded $117 million, which is 13.3 percent of the total trade turnover of Georgia.
In January 2020, the external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to $882.5 million, 5.7 percent higher compared to the same month of 2019.
As reported, the exports equaled $262.6 million (10 percent higher), while the imports stood at $619.8 million (4 percent higher). The negative trade balance was $357.2 million.
