Iran's 13 border customs are open for trade, said Spokesman for Iran's Customs Administration Rouhollah Latifi, Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration.
According to Latifi, the major part of Iran's trade is carried out by sea.
Latifi added that there are no problems with the trade through the Caspian Sea with Russia and Central Asia, with far-reaching destinations such as, East Asia, Europe, and even Latin America.
Iranian customs official said the Afghanistan border is fully open for both passengers and commerce.
"There is no specific problem for trade on other borders, except for Turkey," he said.
Iran is one of the recent countries, affected by the rapidly-spreading coronavirus. According to recent reports from the Iranian officials, over 5,823 people have been infected, 145 people have already died. Meanwhile, over 1,669 have reportedly recovered from the disease.
The country continues to apply strict measures to contain the further spread. Reportedly, the disease was brought to Iran by a businessman from Iran's Qom city, who went on a business trip to China, despite official warnings. The man died later from the disease.
Following the reports of coronavirus spread in the Islamic Republic, several countries have taken measures, including closing borders and banning flights.
The Islamic Republic only announced its first infections and deaths from the coronavirus on Feb. 19.
Iran has exported more than 125 million tons of products worth $38.5 billion over 11 months (from March 21, 2019 to February 19, 2020). China, Iraq, Turkey, the UAE and Afghanistan are in the top five in Iran's exports. Iran imported 32.4 million tons of products worth $39.9 billion. The products are mainly imported from China, UAE, Turkey, India and Germany.
