Azerbaijan Industrial Corporation (AIC) OJSC has taken all the necessary measures in order to comply with the special instructions of the head of state and the rules established by the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers, Director of the Agrarian Production and Trade Department of the corporation Ilham Bayramov told Trend.
According to the director, an internal operational headquarters was established under the leadership of AIC’s Director General, the purpose of which is to organize continuous operation at production sites of special importance indicated in the strategic roadmaps of the state.
"A special operating regime has been introduced at existing enterprises with strict observance of the rules established by the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers, and a special quarantine regime," Bayramov said.
According to the director, despite certain difficulties, seasonal agricultural work continues uninterruptedly. At the same time, disinfection works are regularly carried out at enterprises and facilities, employees are provided with the necessary protective equipment and take appropriate measures to quickly eliminate the difficulties that arise.
“Currently, work is underway in accordance with the agrotechnical rules for cotton sowing; plowing and mulching works have been completed on area of 28,000 hectares, three types of cotton seeds have already been delivered. In addition, fertilizers will be distributed among farmers, and sowing is planned to be started in the coming days. Necessary work has also been done to grow tobacco; 1,750 hectares have been plowed; seedlings are grown on 2,000 hectares, and financial support will be provided to farmers together with Aqrarkreditbank,” Bayramov said.
He also noted that the corresponding work for the production of cocoons was started this year. The cultivation of crops on agricultural lands of AIC is carried out in accordance with agricultural requirements. Measures are being taken to eliminate difficulties associated with the inter-district movement of agricultural workers and farmers.
Azerbaijan Industrial Corporation was established by the decree of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated November 6, 2017.
The main purposes of its establishment are to improve the efficiency of state property management; create profitable cooperative ties between state-owned enterprises; ensure growth of production potential along the value chain; increase in industrial production; accelerate non-oil sector development rates; overcome unemployment by opening new jobs in the regions and the republic as a whole; increase the level of material welfare of the population and others.
