Azerbaijan's instrument-making plant temporarily suspends its operation

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 2

One of the largest industrial enterprises in Azerbaijan, Ganja Instrument-Making Plant, has temporarily suspended its operation, Deputy Director of the plant Yusif Pashazade told Trend.

According to the deputy director, such a decision was taken as a necessary measure in the fight against the spread of coronavirus infection in the country.

"The plant has suspended its operation from today through April 20. At the same time, the enterprise conducted a big preventive work, completely disinfected all the plant workshops. As for the production process, we have already created a certain reserve within the monthly volume of the products put out," Pashazade said.

He noted that last year the Ganja Instrument-Making Plant manufactured products worth 14 million manat ($8.2 million).

According to him, as of the early 2020, the enterprise has manufactured some 1 millions of products, and it's planned to increase this indicator to 1.2-1.5 millions of industrial products till late 2020.

To date, Ganja Instrument-Making Plant had been operating at full capacity, and all the workshops of the enterprise were involved in the process.

Some 160 people worked at the plant.

Ganja Instrument-Making Plant is one of the biggest Azerbaijani enterprises in the field of instrument making, engaged in the development and production of measuring instruments, automatic and automated control systems.

The plant’s activity is aimed at developing and raising the level of instrument making in Azerbaijan and creating modern, high-quality and price-competitive water meters and other measuring instruments that are in demand in the market within the country and abroad.
