Turkmenistan makes amendments to its Customs Code

The parliament of Turkmenistan amended the country's Customs Code, Trend reports with reference to State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.

The Law “On Amendments and Additions to the Customs Code of Turkmenistan” took effect on April 1, 2020.Changes were made to the "on licensing of certain types of activities" law.

Under the new changes, a duty-free shop, a customs warehouse, a temporary storage warehouse will be exempt from licensing.

In the clause 27 of part 1 of article, containers have been included into “vehicles".

The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan was formed in November 4, 1991. It is a state management body regulates the activities of the customs system of Turkmenistan.

This Service ensures compliance with Turkmenistan's international obligations on customs issues, as well as carrying out the fight against smuggling and other crimes. There are currently 6 customs administrations and 51 customs posts.
