A large modern agro-industrial cluster which will be engaged in the production and deep processing of potatoes will be built in Tashkent region, Trend reports citing the Uzbek media.
The agro-industrial cluster will be created on the basis of five local limited liability companies including Bo'stonliq kartoshkachilik markazi, Solanuz, Agrover-urug'chilik, Vernatural and Sof tabiat agro.
These companies will implement five investment projects worth $23.3 million in 2020-2022. They will create 620 permanent and 940 seasonal jobs.
The agrocluster will lease 1,400 hectares of unused land in Bostanlyk district for no more than 50 years. Non-agricultural land plots, with a low bonus point, will be allocated for the construction of a machine and tractor park and logistics centers in Urtachirchiksky district.
The cluster has the rights to independently determine the volumes, varieties and types of products taking into account the needs of domestic and foreign markets as well as natural and climatic conditions. Business entities are allowed to export dry mashed potatoes of domestic production.
