Iran announces exports from its Maragheh county

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 6

Products worth $52 million were exported in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020) from Maragheh a county of East Azerbaijan province in northeastern Iran, said Haydar Jalalzadeh Director of Customs Administration in Maragheh county, Trend reports citing IRNA.

According to Jalalzadeh, 20 types of products were exported during the period, including chemical, agricultural and industrial products, dates, sodium carbonate, etc. and the volume of exported products was about 89,000 tons.

Jalalzadeh added that, exports of products increased by 26 percent in term of weight and 86 percent in term of value.

The official said that the products were exported to 40 countries, including Iraq, Turkey, Georgia, Poland, Russia, Great Britain and South Africa.

Maragheh county is located 127 kilometers from the city of Tabriz, the center of the East Azerbaijan province of Iran and has a population of about 268,000. This county has great potential in the processing industry and the export of agricultural products.
