Iran's Mercantile Exchange to attract more foreign customers

TEHRAN, Iran, April 6

Trend:

Iran's Mercantile Exchange is expected to increase the presence of foreign customers in transactions by signing agreements for joint projects with other stock markets or trading shares, said foreign affair advisor in the Securities and Exchange Organization.

"The mercantile exchange has improved considerably during recent years, so it has taken measures to expand international interactions," said Bahador Bijani, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"There are remarkable commodities being traded at the exchange and foreigners are the major customers of these items. The ground for interaction and cooperation between Iran Mercantile Exchange and foreign exchanges can directly supply Iranian products to foreign countries transparently," he added.

"The mercantile exchange in agriculture has been successful in covering a considerable number of farmers, and trading of saffron, pistachio and cumin on the exchange has improved recently," Bijani said.

"The exchange can eliminate intermediaries in commodity market and develop infrastructures and production in steel and petrochemical industry by directly trading with real price," he added.
