Iran to allocate funds to support 10 categories of jobs

TEHRAN, Iran, April 6

Iran's President Hassan Rouhani said that some $17.8 billion will be allocated to support 10 categories of jobs in the country, Trend reports via IRIB News.

"Three million deprived families under pressure will be paid upto $47 to $142 in 2 stages by the end of June,” Rouhani said at a meeting of the government's economic committee.

"In addition, we have set a loan of $240 and $480 for 4 million families that are among the low-income groups,” he said adding that the interest rate of which is 4 percent.

“There are 10 categories of jobs that have come under intense pressure these days. Some have had their businesses stopped and some try to survive on low income. These are different categories of small and medium size businesses,” he said.

Rouhani added that the employment of almost 3.2 million people depends on such businesses.

“The government has approved to consider a support package for all of these businesses,“ he added.

"The considered credit will be allocated to those who have kept their workers so that they can gradually raise their businesses," he said.

Rouhani went on to explain about the gradual reopening of the businesses which have been shut down until further notice.
