Iran's Minister of Industry unveils details of major plans for Production Leap Year

In the programs designed by Iran's Ministry of Industry for the year of production leap, development of technology and knowledge-based products are among main axes of the ministry's activities, the Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade said, Trend reports citing IRNA.

“Five specific plans have been prepared in cooperation with scientific sectors and development and technology organizations of the ministry, which are obliged to use the country capacities including logistical, scientific and innovative resources in the best possible way,” said Reza Rahmani referring to orders of Supreme Leader.

"Designing and establishing a productivity management model, implementing a plan to empower the production and development of sustainable employment, creating a technology exchange hub inside and outside the country, improving productivity through reconstruction and modernization of industries, support for the production of electric and hybrid vehicles, and electric motorcycles are at the forefront of the Ministry of Industry's efforts to develop technology and knowledge-based products,” Rahmani added.

Speaking about the projects to be implemented in the framework of the five major plans, he said that they aim at measuring and improving the productivity at 20 large industrial enterprises, empowering at least 8000 economic enterprises and focusing on the exchange of new technologies.

It is also envisaged to implement at least 100 projects to boost the introduction of technologies created by knowledge based companies into industries, the reconstruction and modernization of at least 50 large industrial units and 1500 manufacturing guilds, as well as production of 15,000 electric and hybrid vehicles and 50,000 electric motorcycles.
