Iran's trade with Iraq continues at Bashmakh and Parvizkhan border customs, said Spokesman for Iran's Customs Administration Rouhollah Latifi, Trend reports with reference to Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

According to Latifi, Iran's other border customs with Iraq are still closed. Due to the spread of the coronavirus in Iraq, border customs will not operate until April 20 and it is hoped that border customs will be opened after April 20.

Latifi added that Iran's trade with Turkey is carried out via the Razi customs railway. The Sari Su border market will start operating soon. Consultations are being held to open the Bazargan border customs and carry out high level of import-export.

"Trade between Iran and Azerbaijan continues by land, sea and rail. At the same time, Iranian exports to Russia are transited through Azerbaijan," he said.

The official said that Iran's border customs with Turkmenistan are still closed and trade is limited.

Latifi said that trade between Iran and Afghanistan continues through the customs borders of Mahirud, Milek and Dogharoun. Due to the locust attack on the Mahirud customs border, a number of problems have arisen.

"Iran's trade with the UAE and Qatar is carried out through large containers and refrigerated vessel. In addition, food, fruits and vegetables are exported directly from Iran to Oman through the port of Bandar Abbas," he said.

According to the official, the Iranian ports of Imam Khomeini, Shahid Rajaee, Shahid Bahonar, Chabahar, Kharg, Dayyer, South Pars, Kangan, Bushehr, Qeshm and Kish continue to operate.

Due to the spread of the coronavirus in Iran, a number of restrictions have been imposed on imports and exports with neighboring countries.

Iran is one of the countries heavily affected by the rapidly-spreading coronavirus. According to recent reports from the Iranian officials, over 71,600 people have been infected, 4,474 people have already died. Meanwhile, over 43,800 have reportedly recovered from the disease.

The country continues to apply strict measures to contain the further spread. Reportedly, the disease was brought to Iran by a businessman from Iran's Qom city, who went on a business trip to China, despite official warnings. The man died later from the disease.

The Islamic Republic announced its first infections and deaths from the coronavirus on Feb. 19.
