Exports of non-oil products increase via Iran’s Anzali port

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 12

Exports of non-oil products increased by 368 percent via Anzali port of Gilan province in northern Iran, during 20 days of the current Iranian year (starting from March 20, 2020) compared to the same period last Iranian year, said Hamid Reza Abai, Managing Director of Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) in Gilan province, Trend reports citing PMO.

According to Abai, the volume of products loaded and unloaded in the port of Anzali for 20 days amounted to 90,000 tons.

Abai added that loading and unloading of products increased by 66 percent compared to the same period last year.

The official said that the number of ships docking the port of Anzali increased by 24 percent during this period, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Abai said that despite the spread of the coronavirus, preventive measures have been taken in the ports of Gilan province and activities continue.

As much as 1.9 million tons of products were loaded and unloaded in the ports of Iran's Gilan province last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020).
