Production of Iran's Angouran mine increases

The production at the Angouran mine of Zanjan province in northwestern Iran has increased last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019, to March 20, 2020), Director of Iran's Angouran zinc and lead mineral complex Umid Fallah said, Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

According to Fallah, 873,000 tons were extracted last Iranian year, while the plan was 800,000 tons.

Fallah added that a total of 6.85 million cubic meters worth of lead and zinc was extracted from the mine. However, the plan provided for 5.88 million cubic meters. In this regard, an increase of 16.6 percent was recorded.

The official said that about 750,000 tons of lead and zinc and 5.8 million cubic meters of waste will be extracted from the upper part of the mine in the current Iranian year (starting March 20, 2020). In addition, about 100,000 tons of minerals will be extracted from the underground part of the mine.

"This year, the facility is expected to sell 3,500 tons of products per day for 320 working days," he said.

According to official, the current reserves of the Angouran mine are about 3.6 million tons in the open pit and about 1.9 million tons in the underground part of the mine.

Lead and zinc are extracted from Angouran mine.
