Iran exported about 6.7 million tons of cement and 10.8 million tons of clinker last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020), Chairman of Iran's Cement Industry Employers Association Abdurreza Sheykhan said, Trend reports citing Mizan news agency.
According to Sheykhan, in total, the export of cement and clinker increased by 32 percent.
Sheykhan added that the products were mainly exported to Iraq, Kuwait and other countries around the Persian Gulf, as well as to China, Bangladesh, India and Central Asia countries.
"The export price of clinker is $15 per ton, and the export price of cement is $25 per ton," he said.
The official said that Iran produced 66 million tons of clinker last year, and the clinker production increased by 6.9 percent compared to the preceding year (from March 21, 2018 through March 21, 2019).
Sheykhan said that cement production increased by 9 percent to 60.3 million tons.
