Turkmenistan's anti-coronavirus measures discussed at Boao Forum for Asia

Turkmenistan's anti-coronavirus measures waere discussed at Boao Forum for Asia (BFA), Trend reports with reference to Turkmenportal information portal.

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to China Parakhat Durdiev participated in the Boao Forum for Asia, held via videoconference, which was dedicated to the prospects for regional cooperation during the coronavirus pandemic.

Forum participants made reports on economic integration processes in Asia and called for joint efforts to restore the world economy and remove trade barriers.

The conference participants were presented with the strategy of solidarity actions of Turkmenistan, outlined in the speech of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov online Summit of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Contact Group, initiated by Azerbaijani President, chairman of the Non-Aligned Movement Ilham Aliyev and focused on the fight against coronavirus pandemic.

Durdiev highlighted the key aspects of the consolidated actions proposed by the president of Turkmenistan. These include mutual assistance of states, both organizational and financial; close cooperation with the UN and the World Health Organization, as well as the creation of a platform for putting the global economy on a path of sustainable growth.

The ambassador's speech highlighted the importance of the UN General Assembly Resolution adopted on the initiative of Turkmenistan to declare 2021 the International Year of peace and trust. Participants were also invited to take part in a conference on the policy of neutrality and its importance in ensuring international peace, security and sustainable development, which will be held in Ashgabat in December 2020.
