TEHRAN, Iran, May 19

Trend:

Iranian automaker Iran Khodro is expected to supply 12,000 vehicles to balance the price in the auto market and meet customers' demand, Managing Director of Iran Khodro Industrial Group (IKCO) Farshad Moghimi told Trend.

"The Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade's new measures will overcome current obstacles, and by increasing the supply of cars to the market, we will no longer witness dealers' activities," Moghimi said.

"Iran Khodro's priority is to deliver vehicles to its customers. We promise our citizens to boost the production and supply of vehicles to the market and this will happen in coming days," he said.

"The statistics show that foreign automakers' production sharply declined during coronavirus spread, but Iran Khodro has increased production by more than 25 percent in current month comparing to the same time last year," the managing director said.

He added that Iran Khodro produced 34,000 vehicles from April 20 to May 19 last Iranian year (began March 21, 2019), while the production volume increased to 45,000 vehicles during the same period in the current Iranian year (began March 20, 2020).

"The support of Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade in providing foreign currency resources and cooperation in release of auto parts from customs helped to solve the problems," he said.
