Iran launches first data center for satellite information

TEHRAN, Iran, May 28

The first Iran's National Data Center for Satellite Information with an investment of $261 million was inaugurated within infrastructure of the National Information Network with the participation of the president.

Four digital economy projects were inaugurated by President Hassan Rouhani via video conference on May 28, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.

Reporting about these digital economy projects, Minister of Information and Communications Technology Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi announced the opening of the cloud service center of the National Information Network with an investment of $202 million by one of the country's internet operators.

“We have achieved self-sufficiency in this field,” he said.

Referring to other projects, the minister announced launch of the project entitled "Internet TV to every Iranian" adding that internet-based companies invested $19 million to the project.

"In order to support startup companies, packages of $12,000 will be provided for 5,000 startups,” he said.
