Iran extends deadline for submission of income tax declarations

TEHRAN, Iran, May 31

Trend:

Iran has extended the deadline for submission of income tax declarations from June 20 till August 21, said deputy of tax income department in the Iranian National Tax Administration.

"The tax declaration deadline has been extended due to coronavirus spread and its effect on businesses in the country, so business owners can submit their tax declaration online by August 21," said Mohammad Masihi, Trend reports citing ILNA.

"It is compulsory that taxpayers submit their declaration online and avoid any unnecessary visits to the Iranian National Tax Administration in person," he added.

Following the fall of oil prices and reduction of oil sales due to the US sanctions against Iran, the government plans to use taxes as part of its revenues.

The draft reform bill on tax regulations was developed. It is expected to be adopted and included in the budget in the current Iranian year (began March 20, 2020).
