Azerbaijan’s biggest Ganja Instrument-Making Plant is gradually restoring its production capacity during the quarantine regime amid the coronavirus pandemic, Deputy Director of the plant Yusif Pashazade told Trend.
The plant was operating at 20 percent of its capacity in early May and increased this indicator to 50 percent from early June.
Half of the plant's main production facilities are currently used, and the enterprise fulfills the orders related to the production of traditional types of products and industrial goods, said the deputy director.
The plant has produced about 1.1 million pieces of products since early 2020, although initially, it was planned to manufacture up to 1.5 million pieces.
In 2019, the plant's production value reached 14 million manat ($8 million), and the production volume increased by 10-12 percent compared to 2018.
The plant plans to fully restore all production capacity to prepare for the export of the products by the end of the year.
The plant also intends to develop the new types of industrial products and introduce them into production, Pashazade said.
Currently, the company produces water meters, gas pressure regulators, gas control points, ball valves and other types of industrial products of wide range.
Ganja Instrument-Making Plant is one of the leading Azerbaijani enterprises in the field of instrument making, engaged in the development and production of measuring instruments, automated control systems.
The plant aims to develop instrument making in Azerbaijan and create modern, high-quality water meters, gas pressure regulators and other measuring instruments that are in demand in the market in the country and abroad.
The plant is located on the territory covering more than five hectares, and the production area is 6,000 square meters.
