It is predicted the agricultural production will reach 3.11 million tons in Kurdistan Province in the current Iranian year (began March 20, 2020), Director of Agriculture Department of Kurdistan Province Mohammad Farid Separi said at a board meeting, Trend reports citing the department’s website.
About 2.3 million tons of these products are crop products, 400,000 tons are garden products, 401,000 tons are livestock products, and 10,000 tons are fish products.
Separi added that Iran's Kurdistan Province has the potential to produce 5.5 million tons of products a year. At present, work in this sphere is underway.
There are 1.22 million hectares of agricultural land in Iran's Kurdistan Province. In average, it produces about 2.4 million tons of agricultural products a year.
