Iran's Shazand Oil Refining company saves funds on import substitution

The Shazand (Imam Khomeini) Oil Refining Company in Shazand county of Markazi Province managed to save over $30 million worth of funds on import substitution in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020), said the Executive Director of Shazand Oil Refinery in Iran Gholamhossein Ramazanpour said, Trend reports citing the company.

Ramazanpour said the saving of funds became possible due to carried out changes regarding production process at the company's plant, and certain equipment manufactured by the company itself.

Ramazanpour added that in total, the company processed 257,000 barrels of crude oil per day in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020).

He said 5.8 billion liters of premium gasoline were produced in accordance with Euro 4 standard.

"Along with the production of gasoline, the production of other products has also increased," he said.

Iran's Shazand Oil Refining Company produced 3.8 billion liters of diesel and 136,000 tons of sulfur last Iranian year.

The Shazand (Imam Khomeini) Oil Refinery Company was launched in 1993 with the capacity to process 150,000 barrels of oil per day. The company currently processes more than 250,000 barrels of oil.
